RABAT, March 1 (Xinhua) -- Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita and his Zambian counterpart Joseph Malanji expressed here on Thursday their willingness to further cement bilateral cooperation.

Speaking at a joint press conference, Bourita said their meeting was an opportunity to discuss means to ensure the smooth implementation of an agreement signed last year.

During the visit of Morocco's King Mohammed VI to Lusaka, Morocco and Zambia inked 19 agreements covering economic cooperation, investment, banking, agriculture, renewable energies and tourism.

Bourita lauded the growing momentum in bilateral ties since the Moroccan king's visit, saying the signed agreements lay the ground for solid cooperation.

The two sides also discussed a number of regional issues of common interest, the Moroccan minister added.

For his part, Malanji hailed the growing cooperation between the two African nations, saying his country is willing to further strengthen bilateral ties.

Zambian President Edgar Chagwa Lungu will soon visit Morocco, he revealed.
