HANOI, April 26 (Xinhua) -- Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has called for the establishment of free trade zones in key economic regions and the exploration of duty-free ports to attract foreign investment and enhance the country's global competitiveness, Vietnam News Agency reported Saturday.

The initiative aims to improve the distribution of goods and strengthen the country's position in international markets, said the report.

It looks to position Vietnam as a leading logistics hub in the digital era.

Several localities like southern Dong Nai province, central Da Nang city and northern Vinh Phuc province have made proposals on the free trade zone's establishment. ■
