FORDE, Norway, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) -- Varazdat Lalayan of Armenia and South Korea's Park Hye-jeong emerged as the biggest winners in the super-heavyweight categories on the final day of the IWF World Championships on Saturday.
Lalayan, men's +109kg world champion, maintained a win-loss record of 6-1 over his last seven competitions. He claimed golds in all three events in the new category of +110kg, with 211kg in the snatch, 250kg in the clean and jerk, and a total of 461kg.
Gor Minasyan of Bahrain secured second place with 205kg in the snatch, 242kg in the clean and jerk and 447kg in total, followed by South Korea's Song Yeong-hwan with 175-235-410.
In the women's +86kg division, Park won gold medals in all three events with 125kg in the snatch, 158kg in the clean and jerk and 283kg overall.
Marifelix Sarria of Cuba claimed overall silver with 118-157-275, while Mary Theisen Lappen of the United States took bronze with 115-154-269.
China's Zhu Linhan, just 18, earned a bronze medal in the snatch and finished fifth overall with lifts of 116-140-256.
The 10-day IWF World Championships attracted 477 lifters representing 87 countries and regions. ■
