WASHINGTON, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) -- Argentina manager Lionel Scaloni said Monday that several players could make their international debuts in the team's friendly against Puerto Rico.
Palmeiras pair Jose Manuel Lopez and Anibal Moreno, and River Plate defender Lautaro Rivero are among those expected to receive their first Argentina caps in Tuesday's clash at Fort Lauderdale's Chase Stadium.
"We think it's a good match to see the new players and let them show their worth," Scaloni told a news conference on Monday.
Scaloni said he had not yet decided if captain Lionel Messi would take part in the match. Messi missed Argentina's friendly win over Venezuela on Friday but scored two goals and provided an assist for Inter Miami in a 4-0 home MLS rout of Atlanta United in Fort Lauderdale on Sunday.
"I haven't spoken with Messi yet," Scaloni said. "Now we have the final training session and, as we always do, I'll talk to him and if he's fit, he'll play tomorrow," he told reporters.
Scaloni and Argentina's players were among those present at Chase Stadium on Sunday, and Scaloni lavished praise on the 38-year-old's performance.
"He never ceases to amaze," Scaloni said. "We're often left open-mouthed with what he does." ■
