SHARM EL-SHEIKH, Egypt, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) -- A signing ceremony of the recently-reached ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas was held here Monday.

The ceremony fell within a summit co-chaired by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and his U.S. counterpart, Donald Trump, gathering leaders from more than 20 countries as well as regional and international organizations.

The Israel-Hamas ceasefire went into effect on Friday, following more than two years of Israeli offensive that devastated the Gaza Strip and caused famine. ■
