PYEONGCHANG, Feb. 22 (Xinhua) -- Sweden and the United States are to compete for the title in men's curling after beating Switzerland and Canada respectively here Thursday evening at the PyeongChang Winter Olympics.

Sweden, with seven wins and two losses, has been on fire and topped the round robin to qualify the semifinal here in Pyeong Chang.

The 2017 world championship silver medalists took a sweet revenge Thursday evening by gaining a 9-3 victory against the Swiss following a 10-3 loss to them earlier in the round robin session.

"We did everything we talked about doing. We kept our calm and we didn't show any nerves. It was a close-to-perfect game, and in an Olympic semifinal that's pretty fantastic," said Swedish player Niklas Edin.

After finishing fourth at Vancouver 2010 and third at Sochi 2014, the Swedish team now believes "third time's a charm," according to Edin.

"I really believe that but we have one more (game) and we really have to play well. It's going to be a fight to the end. I hope we can keep our calm and score when we play good ends," said Edin.

The Untied States, meanwhile, played a see-saw game with Canada Thursday evening before nailing a 5-3 victory to qualify for the final.

"We've been in tough situations...We just told our skip that we had a lot of faith in him, and he did what he had to do to bounce back, and now we're rolling. Look out, Sweden," said Matt Hamilton from the United States team.

Ten teams have competed in the men's curling competitions of the PyeongChang Games, with the top four finishers from the round-robin qualified for the semifinals.
