TOKYO, April 12 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar hovered in the upper 106 yen zone Thursday in Tokyo amid fears of possible U.S. military strike on Syria.

At 5 p.m. local time, the dollar was quoted at 106.90-91 yen compared with 106.73-83 yen in New York and 107.00-01 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Wednesday. It moved between 106.70 yen and 106.97 yen during the day.

The euro fetched 1.2368-2369 dollars and 132.22-26 yen against 1.2362-2372 dollars and 132.02-12 yen in New York and 1.2375-2376 dollars and 132.42-46 yen in Tokyo late Wednesday afternoon.
