SAMARA, Russia, June 20 (Xinhua) -- Christian Eriksen can change matches, regardless how cautious the opponents are about him, Denmark coach Age Hareide said on a press conference on Wednesday, prior to the match against Australia.

One assist was what Denmark star Eriksen achieved in the opening game with Peru, but Hareide believes his favorite player can contribute more in the following games.

"Eriksen is a player who can change game for us," Hareide said. "He can succeed, even the opponents are cautious and careful about him, we've seen that in the premier league," the Norwegian added.

Hareide said hopefully the Tottenham midfielder is to get up to a good level, and he will show good stuff at this world cup.

Speaking about the coming match against Australia, Hareide said, "there will be many scenarios we can be up against, but first of all we need to make sure we have a stable performance. If we can play at good level, it's a good chance we can win the match."

However the 64-year-old coach insisted that Australia is a tough opponent. "There is a small margin (to win), we saw Australia played France, they were able to challenge France," he said.

The Denmark coach emphasised that it's important to focus on how to play. "In the first match, we focused too much on the results, and we forgot how to play," he concluded.

After defeating Peru, Denmark are to take on Australia, who conceded a 2-1 loss to tournament favorites France, at Samara Arena on June 21.
