BUENOS AIRES, Sept. 15 (Xinhua) -- Argentina recorded a historic 23-19 victory against Australia on Saturday, the first time the Pumas have beaten the Wallabies in Australia for 35 years.

The match, played on the Gold Coast, was the fourth game of the Rugby Championship, a tournament between the rugby powerhouses of the Southern Hemisphere.

New Zealand and South Africa also compete.

Argentina last beat the Wallabies in 2014 in the same tournament, though the 21-17 victory came on home soil in the city of Mendoza.

Australia has had a clear advantage among the 23 meetings between the two teams, with only six losses and one draw.

In Saturday's other game in Wellington, New Zealand, the All Blacks lost 34-36 again South Africa, the first loss by the All Blacks to the Springboks on home turf in nine years.

With these results, the Rugby Championship table stands: All Blacks (16), Springboks (10), the Pumas (8), Wallabies (5).
