CHICAGO, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) -- Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) soybean futures traded sharply higher on Monday morning amid the easing of the U.S.-China trade tensions.

As of 1628 GMT, the most active March 2019 corn was up 5 cents at 3.8275 U.S. dollars per bushel, March wheat was up 4.75 cents at 5.205 dollars per bushel. January soybeans were up 16.25 cent at 9.11 dollars per bushel.

Chinese President Xi Jinping and his U.S. counterpart Donald Trump held a "very successful" meeting Saturday on the sidelines of the G20 meeting in Argentina and agreed to continue to maintain close contact.

The positive development gave the CBOT soybean prices strong support, following months of downward pressure on prices and halted shipments bound for China, the top soybean importer in the world.

For the first time since August, CBOT soybean prices bounced back above 9 dollar per bushel level. Enditem
