LONDON, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- British Prime Minister Theresa May is to deliver a statement to the House of Commons Monday afternoon as local media reported that Tuesday's Commons vote on Brexit deal has been postponed.

May is expected to address the MPs at 1530 GMT.

Sky News quoted unnamed government sources as saying that Commons vote on May's withdrawal agreement with the European Union (EU) has been delayed.

There is not yet any official confirmation of the move.

The latest development came hours after May's spokeswoman said the vote was going ahead as planned on Tuesday.

Opposition Labor leader Jeremy Corbyn was quoted as saying that May's Brexit deal is "so disastrous" that her government "has taken the desperate step of delaying its own vote at the eleventh hour."

Tory MP Anna Soubry tweeted "I gravely fear we are putting off the inevitable..."

Steward Jackson, former Conservative MP, tweeted "Time for action and a vote of No Confidence."

Britain is scheduled to leave the EU on March 29, 2019.
