PHNOM PENH, Jan. 1 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia's famed Angkor Archaeological Park earned 116.6 million U.S. dollars from selling tickets to foreign tourists in 2018, up eight percent from a year earlier, said a press release on Tuesday.

The ancient site received 2.59 million international tourists last year, up 5.4 percent year-on-year, said the release from the state-owned Angkor Enterprise, which is responsible for ticket sales at the park.

China is still the largest source of tourists to the park, as South Korea and the United States rank second and third, respectively.

The entrance fee to the site is 37 U.S. dollars for a one-day visit, 62 dollars for a three-day pass, and 72 dollars for a week-long pass.

Located in northwest Cambodia's Siem Reap province, the Angkor Archeological Park, inscribed on the World Heritage List of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 1992, is the country's most popular tourist destination.
