BEIJING, April 3 (Xinhua) -- The 2015 Snooker World Championship winner Stuart Bingham made 147 for consecutive two years at Star Group 2019 World Snooker China Open here on Wednesday.

Though top six players had waved goodbye after the first round, the second round was surprisingly marvelous. China's Liang Wenbo, who stormed six frames in a row to beat Gary Wilson 6-3 on Tuesday, came from behind again to edge Craig Steadman 6-5 in spite of the latter's 5-3 lead.

Craig Steadman, who upset defending champion Mark Selby in the preliminary round, had a break of 142 in the fifth frame against Liang. However, in another duel, Bingham made 147 in the seventh frame to beat Peter Ebdon. The maximum break was a beginning of a three-frame streak to end the game after the 3-3 tie.

This is the fifth 147 of Bingham's career, 12th of the season and 151st of the snooker history.

If there were no more 147s in China Open this year, Bingham would get 20,000 pounds (about 26,000 U.S. dollars) from the 147s' rolling pot and the 7,000 pounds (about 9,000 dollars) high break prize. In Beijing, 2018, he shared the joy with Ronnie O'sullivan.

"To make 147 is always special, yeah, any tournament, to do it again this year is fantastic," said cheerful Bingham.
