CHICAGO, May 9 (Xinhua) -- Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) agricultural futures, especially soybeans, traded sharply lower on Thursday morning amid trade tensions and weak export data.

As of 1511 GMT, the most active corn contract for July delivery was down 9 cents to 3.5525 U.S. dollars per bushel. July wheat was down 9.5 cents to 4.295 dollars per bushel. July soybeans were down 16.75 cents to 8.105 dollars per bushel.

The U.S. Agriculture Department released on Thursday its weekly export report, showing that the export sales of corn and wheat for the period of April 26-May 2 reached 2018/19 marketing year lows.

CBOT soybeans suffered significant losses amid unsatisfactory export data, including large cancellations from unknown destinations. Trade tensions with the world's top oil seed buyer China have put more pressure on CBOT soybeans, said market watchers.
