BEIJING, June 20 (Xinhua) -- Close to 90 percent of the 2019 Chinese college graduates think campus job fairs are helpful to find a job, according to a survey released by the China Youth Daily Thursday.

Among the 1,894 participants from universities across the country, 88.6 percent feel that campus job fairs make it easier for them to choose future careers.

Campus job fairs save graduates a lot of time in finding jobs as the participating companies are reviewed by the universities' career service departments beforehand to make sure they are reliable, and can provide the graduates with jobs matching their majors, said a graduate of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, who prefered to speak using a pseudo name as Pan Ming.

As for the decisive factors in choosing a career, 71.1 percent of the respondents consider development prospects in their chosen career as the biggest concern. Also, 61 percent of the respondents believe that the salary is the most important factor.

Some graduates also consider the cities where they will work as a decisive factor. Over half of the respondents chose second-tier cities for their future career, and only 33.1 percent prefer to stay in first-tier cities such as Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, according to the survey.

The 2018 Chinese college graduates' employment rate remained stable at 91.5 percent, with the private sector being the biggest recruiter for college graduates, according to a report recently released by MyCOS, an educational research company.
