BERLIN, July 7 (Xinhua) -- Germany is extremely concerned about Iran's uranium enrichment program which breaks the Iran nuclear deal, a spokesperson of German Foreign Ministry said Sunday.

"Germany, like our E3 countries and EU partners, is extremely worried about Iran's announcement that Iran has started the uranium enrichment beyond the 3.67 percent ceiling set by the JCPOA," the spokesperson said, referring to the three European countries Germany, France and Britain involved in the Iran nuclear deal.

The spokesperson said Germany is now waiting for more information of the International Nuclear Energy Agency, saying Germany, France and Britain and the European Union have repeatedly appealed to Iran not to take further actions that undermine the Iran nuclear deal further.

"We urge Iran to discontinue and reverse any steps that are inconsistent with Iran's commitments under the JCPoA. This includes the crossing the limits set in JCPoA on stocks of low-enriched uranium," according to the spokesperson.

Iran announced on Sunday that it is raising the purity of its enriched uranium beyond limits of the 2015 landmark nuclear deal.

"Today, we will start enriching uranium beyond 3.67 percent, and its level of purity depends on our needs. This will happen officially," Ali Rabiee, the spokesman for the Iranian government, said in a live broadcast from state TV.
