KUWAIT CITY, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) -- The Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) said on Sunday that it has launched an initiative to encourage youngsters to embrace new technologies.

The initiative, known as "KFAS INSPO," includes a series of lectures given by Kuwaiti tech experts, the research body said in a statement.

It also features interviews with Kuwaitis who have gained notable achievements in technology and scientific research, the statement said.

The initiative fits the KISR's strategy for the next few years, which revolves around plans to keep abreast of cutting-edge technologies in an effort to move closer towards a knowledge-based economy.
